5 rupee note issued by the Government of India in 1969, commemorating the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi. The note features Mahatma Gandhi seated with a book, with the Ashram in the background. This was a one of the 5 notes to feature Gandhiji, and mark the first occasion when he featured on an Indian banknote.
