The 75 Rupees Commemorative Coin featuring Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose released in 2018 on occasion of 75th Anniversary of Hoisting of Tricolour Flag.
The Proof Coin set is from Mumbai Mint and this Rs 75 is a Non-circulating coin. Unfortunately, there is no smaller denominations.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was and will always remain one of the brightest shining stars of India’s independence movement. On 30th December 1943, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose hoisted the National Flag for the first time at the Gymkhana Ground (present Netaji Stadium) in Port Blair. He also announced the Islands, the first Indian Territory freed from the British rule.
The coin is made of Quaternary alloy i.e. 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc weighing 35 grams with 44 mm diameter and reeded edge.
On the obverse, Ashoka Pillar, Rs 75 below with rupee symbol lettering भारत INDIA सत्यमेव जयते.
At the reverse, Portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose saluting the National Flag at the background of cellular jail with lettering प्रथम ध्वजारोहण दिवस in Hindi and First Day Flag Hoisting in English. Below the Portrait, 75th Anniversary 30-12-1943 to 30-12-2018 is mentioned. The M mint-mark stands for Mumbai Mint. The commemorative coin is truly a collector’s delight.
